Ingredients

  • Moong dal - 1 cup
  • Channa dal - 1/2 cup
  • Mixed Vegetables - 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
  • Onions - 1 medium (finely chopped)
  • Green Chillies - 3-4 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger paste (fresh) - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 7-8.
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (roughly chopped)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Oil - To deep fry.

How to Make Vegetable Masala Vadai

  • Wash and soak the two dals for 4-5 hours.
  • Grind them coarsely.
  • Add onions, chillies, vegetables, powder masala, salt and green leaves to the batter and mix them.
  • Heat oil in the kadai and make small round balls. Flatten with your fingers in to a vadai shape.
  • Deep-fry them on medium flame until golden brown.
  • Serve hot.
