Ingredients

  • 2 small Potatoes
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 tsp - crushed Garlic
  • 1 tbsp - minced green Onion
  • 2 tbsp - Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup - finely cut green beans
  • 1/4 cup - finely sliced Mushrooms
  • 1 tomato, peeled, seeded and chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • For white sauce:
  • 2 tbsp - unsalted Butter
  • 2 tbsp - Maida
  • 1 and 1/4 cup - Milk (about 300ml)
  • a pinch of Oregano and Basil or Thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 50g - grated cheese
  • How to Make Vegetables in White Sauce:

    1. Microwave potatoes and carrots for 4 mins.
    2. Add finely chopped French beans and microwave for further 4 mins. Wrap in a foil and keep aside.
    3. Cover and microwave crushed garlic and chopped green onion with 2 tbsp olive oil for 2 mins.
    4. Mix in chopped tomato and microwave for 3 mins. Add white sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
    5. For white sauce:
    6. Melt butter for 25 to 30 seconds, stir in flour, milk and oregano/basil/thyme, salt and pepper.
    7. Microwave on high for 2.5-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Whip the sauce once or twice in between.
    8. Stir in grated cheese and serve hot.
    9. Enjoy this wonderful tasting dish with pasta of your choice or with garlic bread.
