  • 2 small Potatoes
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 tsp - crushed Garlic
  • 1 tbsp - minced green Onion
  • 2 tbsp - Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup - finely cut green beans
  • 1/4 cup - finely sliced Mushrooms
  • 1 tomato, peeled, seeded and chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • For white sauce:
  • 2 tbsp - unsalted Butter
  • 2 tbsp - Maida
  • 1 and 1/4 cup - Milk (about 300ml)
  • a pinch of Oregano and Basil or Thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 50g - grated cheese

How to Make Vegetables in White Sauce

  • Microwave potatoes and carrots for 4 mins.
  • Add finely chopped French beans and microwave for further 4 mins. Wrap in a foil and keep aside.
  • Cover and microwave crushed garlic and chopped green onion with 2 tbsp olive oil for 2 mins.
  • Mix in chopped tomato and microwave for 3 mins. Add white sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  • For white sauce:
  • Melt butter for 25 to 30 seconds, stir in flour, milk and oregano/basil/thyme, salt and pepper.
  • Microwave on high for 2.5-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Whip the sauce once or twice in between.
  • Stir in grated cheese and serve hot.
