Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup - Rice
  • 1/4 cup - Jaggery
  • 4 tsp - Ghee
  • 1 tsp - Ghee for garnishing
  • 1tsp - cut cashews, Raisins and badams
  • How to Make Vella Payasam:

    1. Cook the rice.
    2. When it is ready, take it in a pan and add jaggery to it.
    3. When the jaggery completely dissolves in the rice, add the 1 tsp of ghee to it.
    4. Take a pan and heat it with the 4 tsps of ghee in it.
    5. Add some cashews, raisins and badam to it.
    6. When the cashews turn slightly brownish, then add it to the payasam mix.
    7. Your vella payasam is ready. Serve it cold.
