Ingredients

  • 5 or 6 - lady's fingers
  • 2 cups - thick Curd (slightly sour)
  • 1/2 cup - coconut, grated
  • 5 or 6 - Green chillies
  • 1 piece - Ginger
  • 2 tbsp - Tuvar Dal, soaked
  • 2 tbsp - Jeera seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • For seasoning: 2 tbsp - Coconut oil
  • 2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 2 tsp - Omam seeds
  • 1 tsp - Curry leaves
  • How to Make Vendakkai Morkozhambu:

    1. Cut ladies finger in 3 long pieces.
    2. Heat oil and saute the ladies fingers till they are cooked.
    3. Grind coconut, jeera, green chillies, ginger and soaked dal to a fine paste.
    4. Add this paste to the curd. Add salt, turmeric powder and bring it to a boil.
    5. Add cooked lady's fingers. Season with mustard seeds, omam seeds and curry leaves.
