  • 3 - Onion
  • 2 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 2 tsp - Channa dal
  • 4 - dry red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp - Tamarind paste
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • How to Make Vengaya Thugayal (Onion Chutney):

    1. Fry the dals and the red pepper in 1/2 tsp oil until it gets roasted and keep it aside.
    2. Cut the onion and simmer in the remaining oil until it becomes transparent.
    3. Grind the roasted dals, onion, tamarind paste, and salt into a paste.
    4. Serve it with puri, chappathi, rice, dosa and idli.
