Ingredients

  • 1 loaf - day-old bread, cut into cubes
  • 1 bunch - spring onions, finely cut
  • 2 - onions, finely cut
  • 1 - capsicum, cut into small pieces
  • 1 - tomato, cut into quarters
  • 1/4 cup - carrot, diced and cooked
  • 1/4 cup - green peas, cooked
  • 4 - green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - garam masala (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp - jeera
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • salt to taste

How to Make Very Veggie Bread Upma

  • Heat oil in a wide mouthed kadhai and add jeera.
  • When the jeera splutters, add the onion pieces, green chillies and spring onions. Saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add the capsicum and tomatoes and saute on medium flame.
  • Add the cooked vegetables and saute well for a minute or so.
  • Add chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt and stir nicely.
  • Add the bread cubes. Stir very well until the cubes are coated well with the masala mixture.
