Ingredients

  • 1 loaf - day-old bread, cut into cubes
  • 1 bunch - spring onions, finely cut
  • 2 - onions, finely cut
  • 1 - capsicum, cut into small pieces
  • 1 - tomato, cut into quarters
  • 1/4 cup - carrot, diced and cooked
  • 1/4 cup - green peas, cooked
  • 4 - green chillies, slit lengthwise
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp - Jeera
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Very Veggie Bread Upma:

    1. Heat oil in a wide mouthed kadhai and add jeera.
    2. When the jeera splutters, add the onion pieces, green chillies and spring onions. Saute for 2 minutes.
    3. Add the capsicum and tomatoes and saute on medium flame.
    4. Add the cooked vegetables and saute well for a minute or so.
    5. Add chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt and stir nicely.
    6. Add the bread cubes. Stir very well until the cubes are coated well with the masala mixture.
