Ingredients

  • 1 cup - cow peas (lobia)
  • 1/2 inch piece - ginger
  • 2 small - green chillies
  • 2 cloves - garlic
  • 1/2 cup - coriander leaves chopped
  • oil for frying
  • salt to taste

How to Make Wada with Lobia (Alachandalu)

  • Wash and soak lobia for 3 hours. Grind lobia coarsely along with chopped ginger, chopped green chillies and chopped garlic.
  • While grinding add very little water.
  • To this add enough salt and chopped coriander leaves.
  • Heat oil in a kadai.
  • Take a polythene sheet and prepare the vadas in the shape of aloo tikkis.
  • Deep fry on medium heat till they are golden brown.
  • Serve hot with sambar and coconut chutney.
