  • 1 cup - cow peas (lobia)
  • 1/2 inch piece - Ginger
  • 2 small - Green chillies
  • 2 Cloves - Garlic
  • 1/2 cup - Coriander leaves chopped
  • oil for frying
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Wada with Lobia (Alachandalu):

    1. Wash and soak lobia for 3 hours. Grind lobia coarsely along with chopped ginger, chopped green chillies and chopped garlic.
    2. While grinding add very little water.
    3. To this add enough salt and chopped coriander leaves.
    4. Heat oil in a kadai.
    5. Take a polythene sheet and prepare the vadas in the shape of aloo tikkis.
    6. Deep fry on medium heat till they are golden brown.
    7. Serve hot with sambar and coconut chutney.
