  • 2 cups - wheat flour
  • 1 cup - rice flour
  • 1 cup - gram flour
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp - butter
  • salt to taste
  • oil for deep-frying

How to Make Wheat Flour Murukku

  • Steam-cook the wheat flour in a cotton cloth (without adding water) for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Let the flour cool. Sieve and keep aside.
  • Add the rice flour, gram flour, butter, sesame seeds, red chilli powder, cumin seeds and salt together. Add the steam-cooked wheat flour. Knead a dough using enough water.
  • Put small balls of the dough in a murukku press with star nozzle and squeeze out the murukkus onto a greased plate.
  • Heat oil and deep-fry the murukkus in small batches.
