Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Wheat germ, cleaned
  • 1 tbsp green gram dal
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup hot Milk (optional)
  • How to Make Wheat Germ Porridge:

    1. Wash the dal and mix with the wheat germ.
    2. Soak in the water for 5 minutes.
    3. Add salt and stir.
    4. Put to boil and stir continuously till boiling.
    5. Partially cover and cook on low heat till the wheat germ is fully cooked.
    6. Stir frequently in between, adding more water if required.
    7. When pressed between the thumb and finger, the wheat germ should break easily. Then it is done.
    8. Alternatively, you can pressure cook until 2 whistles.
    9. Serve hot with milk or salted curd or eat plain with 1/4 tsp ghee.
