  • 3 cups - Wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup - powdered Jaggery (can be adjusted as per taste)
  • 1/2 cup - grated Coconut
  • 1/2 tsp - powdered Cardamom
  • 1 pinch - salt
  • Ghee to cook
  • How to Make Wheat-Gothumai Sweet Roti:

    1. Pour the jaggery into a bowl with 2 tbsp of water.
    2. Boil for about 5 minutes or until the jaggery melts. Strain to remove the impurities and set aside to cool.
    3. Mix the wheat flour, salt, cardamom and coconut well.
    4. Add the jaggery mixture and combine well.
    5. Add enough water and keep mixing until you get a sticky and loose dough.
    6. Divide the dough into small balls.
    7. Heat a tawa, add few drops of ghee.
    8. Flatten the dough balls with your fingers on the tawa (use ghee if too sticky) and cook.
    9. Turn and cook the other side as well until brown.
    10. Serve hot.
