Ingredients

  • 3 cups - Wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup - powdered Jaggery (can be adjusted as per taste)
  • 1/2 cup - grated Coconut
  • 1/2 tsp - powdered Cardamom
  • 1 pinch - salt
  • Ghee to cook

How to Make Wheat-Gothumai Sweet Roti

  • Pour the jaggery into a bowl with 2 tbsp of water.
  • Boil for about 5 minutes or until the jaggery melts. Strain to remove the impurities and set aside to cool.
  • Mix the wheat flour, salt, cardamom and coconut well.
  • Add the jaggery mixture and combine well.
  • Add enough water and keep mixing until you get a sticky and loose dough.
  • Divide the dough into small balls.
  • Heat a tawa, add few drops of ghee.
  • Flatten the dough balls with your fingers on the tawa (use ghee if too sticky) and cook.
  • Turn and cook the other side as well until brown.
  • Serve hot.
