Ingredients

  • 1 cup - whole masoor daal.
  • 1tbsp - Ginger Garlic paste.
  • 1 - tomato.
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder.
  • 1tbsp - coriander powder.
  • 1 tsp - Jeera powder.
  • 1/2 tsp - haldi.
  • a few curry leaves.
  • 1/2 cup - Tamarind soaked in water
  • Coriander leaves for garnish.
  • salt.
  • For tempering
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds.
  • 1 tsp - whole jeera.
  • a few curry leaves.
  • 2 - Cloves of Garlic flakes.
  • oil
  • How to Make Whole Masoor Dal:

    1. Wash dal and put all ingredients except tamarind and pressure cook.
    2. When done remove from cooker and put dal in a cooking vessel, mash a little, then add tamarind juice, and cook for 10 minutes.
    3. In a frying pan heat oil and add all the tempering ingredients and when it begins to splutter add it to the daal.
    4. Garnish with coriander leaves.
