Ingredients

  • 2 cups - whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp - active dry yeast
  • 1/2cup - lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1 tsp - sugar
  • 1/4 cup - paneer, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup - olive oil

How to Make Whole Wheat Paneer Buns

  • Mix the yeast, sugar and salt in lukewarm water and keep aside for 5 minutes until the yeast mixture turns foamy.
  • Mix the whole wheat flour and crumbled paneer in a bowl.
  • Slowly add the foamy yeast.
  • Add the oil and more water if required, and knead into a soft dough.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover the bowl with a towel and keep in a warm place.
  • Let it sit for an hour until it has doubled in volume.
  • After an hour, punch down the dough and knead again.
  • Make 6-8 medium sized balls from the dough and arrange one by one in greased moulds.
  • Let them sit again for an hour in a warm place.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  • Brush the breads with olive oil and bake on the middle rack for 20-25 minutes until the crust turns brown.
  • Remove from the moulds and allow to cool.
  • Serve with salads, soups or spreads.
