  • 2 cups - yam, cooked and well mashed
  • 4 - stale bread slices, soaked in water and squeezed well
  • 2 tbsp - Rice flour
  • 1 tbsp - Corn flour
  • 2 - onions, chopped
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - ginger, crushed
  • Few - Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • 3 - Garlic Cloves
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - for deep frying
  • How to Make Yam and Bread Pakodas:

    1. Grind the fennel seeds and garlic cloves into a fine paste.
    2. Mix the mashed yam, soaked bread slices, corn flour, rice flour, crushed ginger, chopped onions, chopped green chillies and curry leaves into a thick dough.
    3. Heat enough oil for deep frying.
    4. Make small balls from the mixture and drop gently into the hot oil.
    5. Fry until they turn golden brown.
    6. Enjoy hot as side dish or as a snack.
