  • Yam - 500 gm
  • grated Coconut - 1 cup, lightly filled
  • Onion - ½ cup, finely chopped
  • green chilies - 1 tsp, minced
  • oil to fry
  • salt - 1 tsp

How to Make Yam Kismuri

  • Wash and peel the yam. Cut into ½ cm cubes.
  • Sprinkle with salt and keep aside for ½ hour.
  • Squeeze the yam pieces tightly to drain the moisture.
  • Heat oil for deep frying.
  • Fry the yam pieces in batches till crisp.
  • Drain on kitchen paper.
  • Just before serving, toss the pieces with rest of the ingredients.
  • Taste and add more salt if needed.
  • Serve with steamed rice and dal.
