How to Make

  • Roast the dal in the pressure cooker first, along with the pepper corns and bay leaf. On getting the aroma, add water (2 cups). Pressure cook the dal (do not overcook the dal).
  • Remove from pressure and stir, add salt, haldi, sugar, peas and broccoli.
  • Take ghee (or oil) in a kadai and add the red chillies and jeera.
  • Add the cooked dal to this and stir on medium. Boil for 4-5 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
