Ingredients

  • Yellow moong dal - 1 cup
  • Bay Leaf - 1
  • Pepper Corns - 3-4
  • Red Chillies whole - 3
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Ghee to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • Peas (optional) - 1/2 cup
  • Broccoli, cut into large florets - 1 cup
  • How to Make Yellow Moong Dal With Broccoli:

    1. Roast the dal in the pressure cooker first, along with the pepper corns and bay leaf. On getting the aroma, add water (2 cups). Pressure cook the dal (do not overcook the dal).
    2. Remove from pressure and stir, add salt, haldi, sugar, peas and broccoli.
    3. Take ghee (or oil) in a kadai and add the red chillies and jeera.
    4. Add the cooked dal to this and stir on medium. Boil for 4-5 minutes.
    5. Serve hot.
