  • 1 cup (135 g) - maida
  • 1/4 cup (40 g) - powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp (125 g) - butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) - vanilla flavoured custard powder
  • For the cream:
  • 25 g - butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup (40 g) - powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp - Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp - custard powder

How to Make Yo Yo Biscuits

  • Mix the custard powder and maida and keep aside.
  • Cream the butter and sugar until creamy and add vanilla essence.
  • Add the custard powder-maida mixture to the butter-sugar mixture. Combine well to form a smooth dough.
  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes so that it firms up.
  • Pinch off equal bits from the dough and roll into balls. Press the balls lightly with a fork dipped in flour to get marks on the top.
  • Place the dough portions on a baking tray.
  • Chill until preheating time.
  • Preheat an oven to 170 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
  • Bake the biscuits for 15-17 minutes.
  • Allow them to cool and store in an air-tight container.
  • Before serving, blend together all the ingredients for the cream, and pipe it on to the biscuits.
