  • For the biscuits:
  • 1 cup (135 g) - Maida
  • 1/4 cup (40 g) - powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp (125 g) - Butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) - vanilla flavoured custard powder
  • For the cream:
  • 25 g - Butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup (40 g) - powdered Sugar
  • 2 tsp - Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp - custard powder
  • How to Make Yo Yo Biscuits:

    1. Mix the custard powder and maida and keep aside.
    2. Cream the butter and sugar until creamy and add vanilla essence.
    3. Add the custard powder-maida mixture to the butter-sugar mixture. Combine well to form a smooth dough.
    4. Chill the dough for 30 minutes so that it firms up.
    5. Pinch off equal bits from the dough and roll into balls. Press the balls lightly with a fork dipped in flour to get marks on the top.
    6. Place the dough portions on a baking tray.
    7. Chill until preheating time.
    8. Preheat an oven to 170 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
    9. Bake the biscuits for 15-17 minutes.
    10. Allow them to cool and store in an air-tight container.
    11. Before serving, blend together all the ingredients for the cream, and pipe it on to the biscuits.
