  • 30 large mussels
  • 15 large shrimps
  • 300 gms. squids
  • 3 stalks Lemon grass
  • 150 gms. fresh Mint leaves
  • 6 Spring onions
  • 3 small Onions
  • 1 ¼ tsp. ajinomotto
  • 3 tsp. sliced or ground hot chilli
  • 9 small Tomatoes
  • 1 ½ tbsp. fish sauce

How to Make Yum Talay (Spicy Seafood Salad)

  • Clean the squid and slice into strips.
  • If using fresh mussels, remove from shell.
  • Clean and devein the shrimps.
  • Slice lemon grass and spring onions into very thin slices.
  • Cut tomatoes into 6 pieces each. Slice onion.
  • Place the squid, mussels and shrimps in a large pan of boiling water and boil for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and drain off water, leaving the seafood in the saucepan.
  • Place all other ingredients in the saucepan and stir until well mixed.
  • Arrange lettuce on a serving dish and put seafood mixture on top.
