Ingredients

  • Ghee - 2.5 tbsp
  • Oil - 2.5 tbsp
  • Medium size onion, chopped - 1
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Cloves - 3
  • Bay leaves - 2
  • Cinnamon stick - 1
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Tomatoes, quartered - 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Potatoes, cubed - 2 medium
  • Green peas - 1 cup
  • Water - 1.25 cups
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 cup

How to Make Yummy Aloo Mattar

  • Heat ghee and oil, saute onion and ginger-garlic paste over medium heat till they turn golden brown.
  • Add cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon, stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add garam masala, chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, tomatoes, salt and mix well.
  • Add potatoes and peas.
  • Pour in water and bring to a boil.
  • Lower heat, cover the pan and simmer gently for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are done.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapattis, rotis, etc.
