  • 300 g - white bread flour
  • 1 tsp - dried Yeast
  • 1/2 tbsp - Olive oil
  • 120 ml - warm water
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1 tsp - Sugar
  • For the filling:
  • 2 tbsp - zaatar spice mix
  • 1/2 tbsp - Olive oil
  • For the topping:( optional)
  • 1/2 tbsp - Poppy Seeds
  • 1 tbsp - Milk
  • How to Make Zaatar Ring:

    1. Mix together flour, yeast, sugar, oil and salt in a large bowl.
    2. Add warm water and knead it together, to make a smooth dough.
    3. Place the dough in a clean, oiled bowl, cover it with a cling film and allow it to rise, in a warm place, for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
    4. When the dough has risen, punch the air back, roll it out into a rectangle of 30 cm.
    5. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with zaatar spice mix.
    6. Roll the rectangle like a Swiss roll.
    7. Join the two ends to form a ring.
    8. Place a small cup in the middle of the ring, cover it and leave it in a warm place, for 30 minutes.
    9. Preheat the oven to 200 degree Celsius.
    10. Take the ring, remove the cup from the middle, brush the top of the bread with milk and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
    11. Bake it in the preheated oven, for 30 to 40 minutes or until brown on top.
    12. Serve the bread for breakfast with eggs or as a brunch, lunch or dinner with curries and salad.
