  • 4 bunches - agathi keerai
  • 1 tbsp - grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup - moong dal
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 - red chilli
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • 1.5 cup - water

How to Make Agathi keerai curry

  • Clean the leaves of the agathi keerai.
  • Cook moong dal in a heavy bottomed pan with 1 cup water and a pinch of turmeric powder.
  • Remove the cooked moong dal and keep aside.
  • In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds.
  • When the mustard seeds sputter add urad dal and fry till golden brown.
  • Add chopped red chilli and mix well.
  • Now add the cleaned agathi keerai to the pan and sprinkle some water along with salt to taste.
  • Add 1/2 cup water. Put the lid on and cook the keerai for 10 mins.
  • Once the keerai is cooked completely, add the grated coconut and mix well.
  • Serve with rice.
