Ingredients

  • Rice - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Saffron - few strands
  • Cardamom - 5
  • Cashewnuts - 5

How to Make Akara Vadisal

  • Roast the rice for 5 mins and pressure cook it with milk. Mash the rice.
  • In a saucepan, heat sugar with water.
  • When the syrup thickens, add the mashed rice.
  • Cut the cashew nuts and fry them.
  • Powder the cardamom.
  • Add the fried cashew nuts and cardamom to the above mixture.
  • Heat the saffron strands in 1 tbsp milk and add it.
