  • 1/2 litre - whole milk
  • 1/4 cup - sugar
  • 1/4 cup - rice, washed and soaked in water for 30 mins
  • 10-15 - almonds blanched, peeled and chopped
  • 5 to 10 - Kaju and Kismis
  • 2-3 cardamoms, powdered

How to Make Almond and Rice Kheer

  • Heat 1/2 cup water, add rice when it starts boiling.
  • When most of the water has evaporated, add milk. Bring to a boil.
  • Add sugar, simmer till rice is fully cooked to a dalia consistency.
  • It should be of thin porridge consistency.
  • Add most of the chopped nuts, dry fruits and cardamom.
  • Serve chilled garnished with grapes.
