Ingredients

  • 4 - potatoes, large
  • 200g - peas
  • 5 to 6 tbsp - grated coconut
  • 5 to 6 - cashew nuts
  • 1 - tomato, large
  • 2 - onions, large
  • 1 tbsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbsp - chilli powder
  • 1/4 tbsp - garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • salt to taste

How to Make Aloo Mutter Masala

  • Boil potatoes and cut them into cubes.
  • Boil peas separately.
  • Grind coconut, cashew nuts and tomato into a fine paste.
  • Chop onions finely.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
  • After the cumin seeds begin to splutter add ginger garlic paste.
  • Fry the paste till oil separates and add onions.
  • Fry onions till golden brown, add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt, and turmeric powder.
  • Add the boiled potatoes, and the coconut paste and allow it to boil.
  • Add water according to the required consistency.
  • Cook for ten minutes and serve with rice, roti or naan.
