  • Bread slices - 8
  • Butter or cooking oil - 20 g
  • Maida - 1 tbsp
  • Milk - 250 ml
  • Processed cheese - 30 g
  • Onion - 1, finely chopped
  • Capsicum - 1, finely copped
  • White pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Baked Cheese Toast

  • Cut the bread slices into triangle shape and apply butter on one of its side.
  • Arrange the slices in a baking tray keeping the buttered side down, making a single layer.
  • Now, put a pan on slow fire and add the remaining butter into it.
  • After butter melts, add maida and fry for a short while.
  • Now, add chilled milk. Keep stirring it till the mixture is smooth, creamy and thick. Now remove from fire and add grated cheese, onion, capsicum, salt and pepper.
  • Apply this mixture on the slices arranged in baking tray.
  • Bake these in a very hot oven for about 10 - 15 min or till the toasts are crisp and golden brown.
  • Serve with tomato sauce.
