  • 300 g - paneer (cream cheese)
  • 2 onions (chopped)
  • 1 cup - green peas
  • 2 tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup - grated cheese
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 4 peppercorns
  • 3 cloves
  • 4 large potatoes
  • oil

How to Make Baked Paneer with Potatoes

  • Deep fry the paneer and keep aside. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the onions, then add the turmeric, garam masala, cloves and peppercorns.
  • Fry for a few minutes, then add the tomatoes and green peas.
  • Simmer with a little water until the peas are cooked.
  • Grease a baking dish and place the fried paneer evenly in it.
  • Spread the fried pea mixture evenly over the paneer and keep aside.
  • Meanwhile boil, peel and mash the tomatoes with salt and chilli powder.
  • Cover the paneer and peas mixture with the mashed potatoes and sprinkle over the grated cheese.
  • Bake in a moderate oven (177 degrees C) until the top is golden brown.
