Banana Chutney is a delicious side dish that is unique, compared with the usual chutney recipes. Fleshy, ripe bananas are used which adds a fresh, sweet taste to the chutney. This chutney makes an ideal side dish for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Dry dates, bananas, coconut, onion, mint, mustard seeds and green chillies are made into a tasty paste, perfect for your main course. A dash of lime juice adds an extra flavour.

Ingredients

  • 6-7 dry dates
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • ½ (125 gms.) coconut
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 sprig mint
  • A pinch mustard seeds
  • 2 green chillies
  • ½ juice of a lime

How to Make Banana Chutney

  • Stone dates and soak in boiling water until soft. Peel bananas.
  • Grind all the ingredients into a fine paste. Add lime juice and blend well.
