Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 - ripe Bananas
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 1 tsp - sugar per banana
  • Sliced cashewnuts
  • Sultanas
  • 1/2 cup - milk
  • Cardamom powder or saffron or nutmeg powder for flavour (if saffron is to be added, soak it in a little warm milk for some time before adding)
  • 1/4 cup - Coconut powder or shreds

How to Make Banana Kaju Halwa

  • Slice bananas into medium thick coins.
  • Put ghee in a pan and let it heat.
  • Add the banana slices and fry till golden
  • Add sugar and let it melt
  • Add milk and coconut powder and stir it till it acquires the consistency of a thick gravy
  • Add half the dry fruits and cardamom/saffron/nutmeg and stir again
  • Allow it to cool and garnish with the remaining dry fruits before serving.
