Ingredients

  • 500 g - fish fillets
  • 1/2 cup - vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1 cup - besan (chickpeas flour)
  • 1/2 cup - rice flour
  • 2 tsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 2 tsp - fennel (saunf), crushed
  • 1/2 tsp - cooking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to deep fry

How to Make Batter Fried Fish Fingers

  • Cut the fillets into fingers.
  • Mix with vinegar and salt. Leave aside for 15 minutes.
  • Squeeze out the excess moisture from fish gently and pat dry between two sheets of kitchen paper.
  • Combine all the ingredients from besan to salt.
  • Add enough water to make coating batter.
  • Dip fingers in batter and deep fry. Drain on kitchen paper.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato sauce.
