Ingredients

  • 1 cup - grated beetroot
  • 1 cup - rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup - soaked moong beans, soaked for 10 to 12 hours
  • 100 g - palm sugar
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 10 - cashews
  • Edible camphor - a small pinch

How to Make Beetroot oats pongal

  • Soft cook moong bean with a cup of water.
  • Add oats, beetroot and 2 cups of water.
  • Cook till the oatmeal is fully done for about 20 to 25 mins.
  • Add grated palm sugar or jaggery and mix well.
  • Simmer for 2 to 3 mins, fry cashews in ghee and temper with camphor.
  • Serve warm.
