Ingredients

  • 1 big coconut, grated
  • 250 gms. sugar
  • 1 litre milk
  • 1 tsp. cardamom seeds
  • 25 gms. each of blanched and sliced almonds and pistachios
  • 25 gms. raisins and charoli
  • 1 tsp. either essence of rose or saffron
  • Silver or golden foil

How to Make Bengali Coconut Ladoo

  • Mix together coconut, sugar and milk and cook over a slow fire.
  • Cook it well, till the mixture turns thick and leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Remove from fire and mix in the rest of the above ingredients with the exception of foil paper.
  • Form into round balls and cover with foil.
  • Set aside to turn cold.
  • Store in an airtight tin.
