Ingredients

  • 1 litre juice of date palm
  • 50 gms. basmati rice
  • ½ litre milk
  • Grated jaggery as per your taste

How to Make Bengali Date Palm Payesh

  • Bring the juice to a boil.
  • Remove scum as it rises and put in the cleaned and washed rice.
  • When the rice turns soft, put in the milk and jaggery and stir continuously till the payesh turns thick.
  • Pour in individual bowls and serve cold or hot.
