Ingredients

  • 500 gms. ice apples (Talgolas – A white coloured fruit available in Bengal)
  • 200 gms. finely grated jaggery
  • 1 tsp. cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp. rice flour
  • 4 tbsp. ghee for frying the vadas

How to Make Bengali Ice Apple Vada

  • Peel the ice apples, mash and pass through a sieve.
  • Mix in jaggery to taste, cardamom powder and enough flour to form a thick batter.
  • Drop the batter with the help of a spoon in smoking ghee and deep fry to a golden brown colour.
  • Serve piping hot.
