Ingredients

  • Buttermilk - 5 cups
  • Besan dal - 1.5 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chillies - 4
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Jeera seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Cooking oil - 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves

How to Make Besan Kadi

  • Heat the oil and put mustard. Allow to splutter.
  • Add jeera seed, chillies, salt, chilli powder and turmeric. Saute well.
  • Then lower heat and add the buttermilk.
  • Add the besan and cook while stirring constantly.
  • Simmer for 15 minutes and then add coriander leaves to it.
  • Serve hot.
