Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups - gram flour/besan
  • 1.5 -medium onion, chopped fine
  • 2- medium tomatoes, chopped fine
  • 1/2 cup - wheat flour
  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped
  • 10 - curry leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric/haldi powder
  • 1 tsp - roasted cumin/jeera powder
  • 2- pinches soda
  • Green chutney to serve

How to Make Besan ke cheele

  • In a big bowl, add besan and wheat flour and mix well.
  • Now add salt, soda, onions, tomatoes, green chillies, curry leaves, jeera powder, haldi and mix well.
  • Pour some water in the mixture and mix well without any lumps.
  • The batter should not be too thick or too thin; keep aside for 30 minutes.
  • Heat a pan and pour 2 tsp of olive oil.
  • Pour a small bowlful of mixture on the pan and spread it with a spoon.
  • Cook it on medium flame for 3-4 minutes to prevent it from burning.
  • Turn the chila over and cook on the other side too.
  • When cooked, remove and serve immediately with green chutney.
