Ingredients

  • Black eyed beans - 1 cup (soaked overnight)
  • Medium onions - 2
  • Ginger paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • Chicken masala - 2 tbsps
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 1/4 cup
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Black Eyed Bean Masala

  • Pressure cook the beans adding salt.
  • Finely chop the onions.
  • In a kadai heat oil, season curry leaves.
  • Add chopped onion and fry till golden brown.
  • Add ginger, garlic paste and saute for a few seconds.
  • Add the powders and saute for a few seconds.
  • Add salt, cooked beans and cook till the oil separates.
  • Serve hot with any kind of rice or Indian bread.
