  • 1 cup - channa dal (soaked overnight)
  • 1 to 2 - green chillies
  • a small piece of ginger
  • For Filling:
  • 1 - carrot, chopped
  • 1 - capsicum, chopped
  • 1/4 cup - boiled peas
  • 2 tbsp - wholegrain corn kernels
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • curry leaves
  • salt

How to Make Blossom Basket

  • Grind the dal with chillies, ginger and salt.
  • Take small moulds, fill with batter and steam. Cool and de-mould.
  • Prepare the vegetables by sauteing curry leaves, salt, pepper, red chilli powder, carrots, corn, capsicum, and peas.
  • Before serving, deep fry the steamed dal cakes till golden brown. Top with vegetables and garnish with coriander. Serve hot.
