Ingredients

  • 3 sheep brains or 1/2 kg beef brain
  • 2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp - flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp - oil

How to Make Brain Cakes

  • Wash the brains well and remove the nerves etc.
  • Cook in a little boiling water for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
  • When cold, mix in the beaten egg, pepper powder, egg, flour and salt and mix well.
  • Shape into small cakes and then flatten them.
  • Heat oil in a flat pan and shallow fry the brain cakes till brown on both sides.
