Ingredients

  • 15 -20 - bread slices
  • 2 - onions
  • 5 - 6 - green chillies
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - hing powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Jeera
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 20 - 25 nuts - groundnut
  • 1/2 tsp - sugar
  • salt, as per taste
  • oil for frying
  • coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Make Bread Upma

  • Grind the bread slices and make bread crumbs. Mix in some salt and keep aside.
  • Cut onions, green chillies and keep them aside.
  • Add oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, jeera seeds and groundnuts.
  • Once the nuts are light brown in colour, add onion and chillies and fry them well.
  • Add turmeric, hing and sugar in the oil.
  • Add the bread crumbs and mix it well for 3 - 4 minutes.
  • Serve hot after sprinkling the cut coriander leaves with pickle / curd.
