Ingredients

  • Bread slice - 15-20
  • Onion - 2
  • Green chilli - 5-6
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Hing - 1 tsp
  • Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Groundnut - 20-25
  • Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Make Bread Veg Upma

  • Lightly toast the bread slices and grind to prepare bread crumbs. Add a little salt while grinding.
  • Cut the onions and green chillies.
  • Heat oil and splutter the mustard seeds, jeera and groundnuts.
  • When the nuts turn light brown, add the onions and chillies and fry well.
  • Add turmeric, hing and sugar. Stir well.
  • Add the bread crumbs and mix well for 3-4 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with pickle or curd.
