Ingredients

  • 200g - broken wheat/samba rava
  • 1 - green chilli
  • 1/2 inch - ginger
  • 1 red chilli
  • 1 - onion
  • 1 - tomato
  • 1 - small carrot
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp - channa dal
  • 1 tsp - peanuts (roasted/raw)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 sprig - curry leaves

How to Make Broken Wheat Rava Upma

  • Finely chop the onion, tomato, carrot, ginger, and green chilli.
  • Heat oil and temper the mustard seeds, dals, peanuts, curry leaves, and broken red chilli.
  • Add onions and chilli and fry for 3 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, carrot, ginger, rava, and salt and fry for 2 more minutes.
  • Add one and a half cups of water and stir well.
  • Cover and cook on a low flame for about 8 minutes or till done.
