Ingredients

  • 1 lb - Brussels sprout
  • 2 flakes - garlic
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin
  • A pinch - turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - coconut (fresh, grated)
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • Mustard seeds and curry leaves for seasoning
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Brussels Sprouts Thuvaran

  • Chop the Brussels sprouts coarsely using a food processer and keep aside.
  • Dry-grind the coconut, garlic and cumin as finely as possible.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add the chopped sprouts, coconut-garlic masala, turmeric, red chilli powder, and salt to taste.
  • Do not add water as sprouts cook easily. Fry lightly
  • Remove the pan from the flame as soon as the raw smell of the sprouts goes
  • Serve as a side dish with rice
