Ingredients

  • For the noodles:
  • 200 g - noodles (you can use any kind of noodles)
  • 1-2 cloves- bruised garlic
  • Water as required
  • Salt as required
  • For the gravy:
  • 500 g - boneless chicken(bite-sized)
  • 4 -finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp - ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp - garlic paste
  • 3/4 tbsp - gram flour
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1.25 cups - coconut milk
  • 1.25 cups - water
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • For the garnish:
  • 3-4 -chopped boiled eggs
  • 1/4 cup -sliced and fried garlic
  • 1/4 cup - fried onions
  • 2 tbsp - chopped coriander
  • 1/4 cup - fried noodles
  • 1/4 cup - crushed peanuts
  • 1 tbsp - finely sliced green chillies
  • Soy Sauce(optional)
  • 2-3- lime

How to Make Burmese Khow Suey

  • Boil the water required for noodles along with salt and garlic. Add the noodles and cook till the noodles are done. Drain and rinse in cold water. Drain and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Saute the onions till soft. Add the ginger- garlic pastes and fry till the raw smell goes.
  • Add the turmeric and chilli powder along with chicken and saute till the chicken is cooked.
  • Add the gram flour and mix well.
  • Pour in the coconut milk along with water or stock and add the salt. Let it boil till it thickens. Switch off heat.
  • For serving
  • Take the serving bowl and add some noodles.
  • Pour the gravy so that the noodles are well covered. Garnish according to your liking. Serve hot.
