Ingredients

  • 1 - whole cabbage (chopped and cleaned well)
  • 1/2 cup - tamarind (cleaned well)
  • 3-4 green chillies or 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 cup - water
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 3-4 tsp - oil
  • For seasoning (optional, but preferred):
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch - asafoetida

How to Make Cabbage and Tamarind Chutney

  • Grind all the ingredients together well.
  • If using seasoning, splutter everything in hot oil and then pour over the ground chutney.
  • Serve fresh.
