Ingredients

  • 1 no. - Capsicum (chopped)
  • 1/2 no. - onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - besan/gram flour
  • 1 tsp - peanut powder
  • 1/4 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin and coriander powders
  • 2 tsp - corn flour
  • 1 tsp - rava
  • Water
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry

How to Make Capsicum and onion vadai

  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add onion and capsicum.
  • Fry till vegetables are tender. In a bowl, mix besan, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin and coriander powders, peanut powder and salt.
  • Add this dry mix to the pan and cook till the raw smell has disappeared.
  • Allow to cool.
  • In a bowl, mix corn flour, rava, salt and a pinch of turmeric and some water and prepare a batter.
  • Make small balls of the capsicum onion mixture, dip in the batter prepared and fry till brown.
  • Vadais are ready; serve with ketchup or pudina chutney.
