  • 1 litre - milk
  • 1/2 cup - basmati rice
  • 1 cup - sugar

How to Make Caramel Payasam

  • Caramelise 1 tbsp of sugar in a pressure cooker. Add 1/2 cup of hot water.
  • Now add the milk and rice.
  • When the milk starts boiling well, close the cooker and cook for 25 minutes. Allow it to cool.
  • Add the entire sugar, mix well and keep it covered for another 15 minutes.
