Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg - medium-sized catfish
  • 3 cloves - garlic
  • 1-inch piece - ginger
  • Handful - coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 cup - coconut scrapings
  • 1 - tomato cut into slices
  • 1.5 - onions
  • 1/2 tsp - tamarind pulp
  • 2 tsp -red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 3 tbsp

How to Make Catfish Coconut Curry

  • Cut fish into 1-inch pieces and add 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder and a little salt; then keep it aside to marinate for some time.
  • Grind coconut, coriander powder, ginger, garlic, tomatoes, and one onion.
  • Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan, and add the finely cut onion; fry it till it becomes translucent.
  • Then add a little turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
  • To this, add the masala with a little water.
  • Add the tamarind pulp to it, and stir constantly. Once this is added, add the fish pieces to it.
  • Cook till done and garnish it with coriander leaves.
