Ingredients

  • 1 - big cauliflower
  • 1/4 cup - green peas
  • 1/2 - onion, cut lengthwise
  • 1/2 medium sized - tomato, cubed
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 generous pinch - turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp - coriander leaves, chopped finely
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • salt
  • Grind to a paste:
  • 1/4 cup - coconut
  • 1 tsp - fennel
  • 5 - cashews
  • 1 - onion
  • 1 - tomato
  • 1 tbsp - roasted gram dal
  • 4 pods - garlic
  • 2 - green chillies
  • 1/2 inch piece - cinnamon
  • 1 - clove

How to Make Cauliflower Peas Kurma

  • Grind all the ingredients for the paste with a little water and keep aside.
  • Chop cauliflower into small florets and pressure cook along with peas, salt and turmeric powder - till half done.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add onions and fry till golden brown. Then add tomatoes, fry until the raw smell leaves.
  • Add chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
  • Now add the ground paste and fry till the raw smell leaves and oil separates.
  • Add 1/4 cup of water (adjust according to thickness) and allow it to boil for 5 mins.
  • Now add cauliflower and peas, mix well. Add water if required and allow the kurma to boil 3 - 5 mins.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off.
