  • 1 cup red chana
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 tsp.chilli powder
  • 1 tsp.shahjeera powder
  • ½ cup coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp. amchur
  • 1 tsp.turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp.garam masala
  • 4 tbsp. oil
  • 2 tbsp. jaggery
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Chana Bataka(Whole Gram with Potatoes)

  • Soak chana overnight. Beat till soft.
  • Boil potatoes and quarter.
  • Grind some chanas to thicken gravy.
  • Add water and check consistency.
  • Add all spices, salt and potatoes and simmer till blended.
  • Heat oil and pour over chana.
  • Add chopped coriander and serve hot with pav bread.
