Ingredients

  • cooked white Channa - 1 cup
  • dried red chillies 3 to 4
  • white sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
  • tamarind - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 2 tbsp
  • mustard - 1 tsp
  • black gram (Urad) Dal - 1 tsp
  • curry leaves a few
  • salt to taste

How to Make Chana Chutney

  • Roast red chillies and sesame seeds with 2 tsp of oil.
  • Grind them with Chana, tamarind and salt, adding some water.
  • Heat remaining oil in a small fry pan.
  • Add mustard seeds.
  • When they splutter, add Dal.
  • When it is brown, add curry leaves.
  • Add this seasoning to Chutney.
