  • Channa - 1/2 kg
  • Onions - 3
  • Small piece of ginger
  • 3 to 4 flakes - garlic
  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Chilli powder - 2 tbsp
  • Channa powder - 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Oil

How to Make Channa Masala

  • Soak channa overnight and boil them with little salt
  • Take 3 onions and grind them and make paste
  • Take ginger and garlic and make a paste
  • Grind tomatoes
  • Then take oil and fry onion paste till golden brown
  • Then add ginger garlic paste in that oil followed by ground tomatoes.
  • Take a little channa and grind it and add to the gravy
  • Then take the remaining boiled channa and add to the gravy
  • Add chilli powder, salt, garam masala and channa powder
  • Bring the gravy to boil nicely for about 15 mins
  • Add coriander leaves or spring onions for garnish.
